metal

i love these "industrial doilies" pcs by cal lane.

(more images at cal lane)

it reminds me of that filigree bulldozer in central park a few years ago by wim delvoye.

he also has these really creepy stained glass windows out of x-rays.

and he made filigree metal caterpillars/cement mixers/flat beds...
and an amazing tower.
check out his website wim delvoye for more of his work.  (the filigree metal stuff is awesome, but the tattooed stuffed pig skins seem a little wrong...)

"hair" part 50kabillion

ok, one more hair post and then i'll stop.

a bizarre but beautiful victorian mourning practice was to make art/jewelry out of the deceased's hair.
these are really beautiful.

this one is from timedancesby

a detail photo of a victorian horse hair woven chain - woven and worked like lace
from rubylane

and of course the brilliant designer sandra backlund
